Continuing education classes are presented live on Substack three times a week. Learn about some of the most misunderstood topics in healthcare today, starting with diagnosis of a condition based on a test and ending with evaluating evidence from new research. Both use the same reasoning that eludes over three quarters of healthcare professionals.
We’ll start with the basics using no math other than counting things and putting them in buckets: tested positive, tested negative. You’ll continually refresh your understanding as the lecture goes on in a stress-free environment and take a short self-test at the end.
Classes are one hour and are intended for continuing education credits with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), among others.

Note: You may participate anonymously. Certificates are only issued if you provide your full name and Substack handle. (Substack only shows attendance by profile name.)
Certain professional organizations forbid advertising automatic acceptance of certificates and rely on self-certification (physician AMA Category 2). If yours has a statistics category, the topics covered (conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem, base rate neglect) should fit within the rubric.

If you’re interested in teaching metascience, critical appraisal, research methods, and other topics that are often learned after graduation, sign up for the Metascience and Methods Interest Group. We’ll share challenges and strengthen our arguments together. Let’s not let another generation pass.
